Nancy L. Choate is a native of Lexington, Tennessee. After graduation from Lexington High School, she attended the University of Tennessee at Martin graduating with high honors. Following her graduation from the University of Tennessee at Martin, she attended Vanderbilt University School of Law obtaining her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1987. She returned to Jackson, Tennessee to begin her career immediately following law school. After working for a local law firm for three years, she decided to open her own firm in 1991 which focused on the areas of estate planning, elder law and business planning.
Nancy is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, (Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate sections), National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Madison County Bar Association. Nancy has received a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent from her fellow lawyers. She is also a Master of the American Inn of Court, Jackson, Tennessee chapter, a legal mentoring organization dedicated to achieving higher levels of excellence and furthering the practice of law with dignity and integrity. Nancy is a frequent speaker on the subject of Estate Planning and Probate and Elder Law to senior adults and other select groups as well as business and financial professionals.
Mrs. Choate makes her clients feel comfortable by offering a personal analysis of their individual situation and goals. She is able to create documents to meet the personal needs of the client in a timely manner. Clients often express appreciation in Mrs. Choate's ability to explain legal terms in "plain English" and to offer legal advice on complicated issues in a clear understandable manner. Nancy and her husband of twenty-six years, Curtis, are active members of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee where they enjoy singing in the choir and serving as Sunday School small group leaders. Curtis is a teacher at Tigrett Middle School and also serves as office manager for the law firm. They have two children, Anna, a senior music major at Union University, and William, a seventh grader at Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson, Tennessee. Curtis and Nancy enjoy traveling with their children and supporting the performing arts.
